Film That Gave My Voice Says Hansal Mehta Celebrating 8 Years Of Shahid

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta celebrates 8 years of Shahid, calls it a movie which gave him his voice.

Based on the life of lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi, who was assassinated in 2010, the film stars Rajkummar Rao as Azmi; Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Prabhleen Sandhu and Baljinder Kaur appear in supporting roles.

Though the film was a commercial disaster but it fetched National Awards for actor Rajkummar Rao and filmmaker Hansal Mehta.

Hansal took to his social media profile and shared some of the most intense posters from the film and wrote, “The film that gave me my voice. The biographical drama was written by Sameer Gautam Singh and jointly produced by Anurag Kashyap and Sunil Bohra in association with Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur under the UTV Spotboy banner.

Meanwhile on the work front, Hansal is currently busy with Faraaz which is based on the Holey Artisan cafe attack that shook Bangladesh in July 2016.

Mehta will helm Captain Indian inspire by true events, starring Kartik Aaryan.
