Gajraj Rao Condole The Demise Of Deep Pal
Veteran actor Gajraj Rao just took to his social media profile and wrote a moving note for his friend Deep Pal, a noted cinematographer and steadicam operator, who passed away yesterday.
Gajraj Rao wrote, “Rest in peace, Deep Pal. He was an ace steadicam operator, brilliant cinematographer, a learned teacher, a loving husband, a proud father, and a doting grandfather. But most importantly, he was an avid traveller who covered almost half of the world with his wife, Yardley. His trips were always planned to the minute months in advance, and he always returned with trunks full of anecdotes”
“Yesterday, he embarked on the final journey, and I'm sure he would be sharing his wonderful anecdotes and PJs to spread joy in the other world too. Bon voyage, Deep da...Praying for strength to Yardley and the family @yardleypal #DeepPal #Cinematographer #Steadicam #Tribute #RIP” read the full note.
Deep Pal was the son of publicist Colin Pal and grandson of director Niranjan Pal. He was known as being one of the pioneers of Steadicam camerawork in India. Pal's first major Steadicam work was in Shiva, which was considered a pathbreaking film on visual technique in Telugu cinema.
On the work front, Gajraj Rao will next be seen in Maidaan, a sports biopic based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–1962) and starring Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.
