Randeep Hooda reminscies his shelved project on 'Battle of Saragarhi' Anniversary

Sharing his look from the film, he wrote,"Some movies never get made but the stories live on forever ..  In 1897 on the Northwest Frontier (present day #afghanistan ) 21 #Sikhs stood up against 10000 #afghanistani tribesmen.. it was a certain inevitable death but the decision to take a stand inspite of the odds and not show their backs to the enemy marks this 6.5 hrs fierce battle to death as one of the greatest last stands in the armed history of the world. 3 #gurudwara have been made in their memorial.. this one is in near#goldentemple #amritsar

Boleeeeeeeeeee sooo nihala..Saaaaaatsriakaaalaaa #Waheguru ji ka #Khalsa .. Waheguru ji ki Fateh #Saragarhiday”

Randeep Hooda was to star in a film that was based on this battle but the project got shelved because Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari was being made on the same theme.

Randeep had fully prepared himself for the role and the actor had kept his hair uncut for almost 3 years, as can be seen in the picture shared.

On the workfront, the actor will  be seen in 'Unfair & Lovely' which is a social comedy film directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua. It stars Ilena D'Cruz opposite him and is based on the obsession of Indian's with fair skin.  He will also be seen in 'Rat on a Highway' which is directed by Vivek Singh Chauhan.

The actor will also be seen in a web series titled 'Inspector Avinash' which is based on real life experiences of police officer Avinash Mishra. It is directed by Neeraj Pathak.
