Dia Mirza Celebrates 15 Years Of Lage Raho Munna Bhai

Actor Dia Mirza just took to her social media profile and wrote a heart-felt note as Lage Raho Munna Bhai clocks 15 years of its release, says it’s a movie which will always remain relevant.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film was a follow-up to the 2003 film Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. with Sanjay Dutt reprising his role as Munna Bhai, a Mumbai underworld don. In Lage Raho Munna Bhai, the eponymous lead character starts to see the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi. Through his interactions with Gandhi, he begins to practice what he refers to as Gandhigiri (a neologism for Gandhism) to help ordinary people solve their problems.

Dia took to her social media and wrote, “A film like 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' always remains relevant because of its theme. It is very rare that a film addresses really complicated societal issues in such a simple yet profound way. The questions that the film tackled in 2006 are still meaningful”

“The film shows how easy it is to bring people together, dissipate ignorance and create synergy, harmony and peace even in the most contentious situations. This is how we won our independence; with extraordinary resilience and idealism”

“These values are timeless and can never be obsolete. Terms like 'Gandhigiri' and 'Get well soon" are now part of the popular lexicon forever because of this film. Proud to be a part of this amazing movie #15YearsOfLageRahoMunnabhai @RajkumarHirani @VVCFilms” read the full note.

The film also starred Arshad Warsi, Vidya Balan, Boman Irani, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Jimmy Sheirgill, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Saurabh Shukla and Abhishek Bachchan.
