Veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee who has won accolades for his poignant role in series The Family Man, and now he is back with yet another cop-avatar in forthcoming Dial 100, says he has always played the person wearing the uniform, not the job or the uniform.

Manoj Bajpayee recently interacted with Newshelpline for his forthcoming thriller drama Dial 100, which is directed by Rensil D'Silva and produced by Sony Pictures Films India, Siddharth P.Malhotra and Sapna Malhotra.

When asked if Manoj Bajpayee enjoy playing cop avatar as he has done in back to back releases, the veteran actor said, “Yes, I have done 5-6 different police characters in my career, it’s 26 years old career and if your career is this long, everyone will play cop some 7-8 times, a criminal 7-8 times, a professor equally amount of time, so on and so forth. It’s not like I like playing police-cop roles, not at all. I don’t play uniform or the job; I play the person, who is wearing the uniform. That is why I have managed to keep all of them different from each other”

When quizzed if The Family Man and Dial 100 characters has a similar tone, Manoj said, “The dimension of both the characters is different and the nature of their problem is different, here the man is not at all interested in handling the household or house-job or participating in any way for his son, who is almost 17 years old. He is someone who is a failed father and a husband. But in The Family Man, he is not a failed husband; he is someone who has left his job to be with his family, to accommodate them, be with them and he is very responsible person”

When asked which one of his recent cop-avatar is his favorite, he added, “I love all of my characters; they are something I have choose and played them with best of ability. It is not for me to decide, it is for the audience to decide”

Dial 100 also stars Neena Gupta and Sakshi Tanwar in the lead roles. The film premiered on 6 August 2021 on ZEE5.
