Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won a historic athletics gold medal to become India's second ever individual Olympic gold medallist after shooter Abhinav Bindra.
Wrestler Bajrang Punia won a bronze as India equalled their best ever Olympic medal haul of 6 medals.

Neeraj Chopra bagged the first ever gold medal in country’s history of participation, by throwing it 87.85 meter away. Bajrang Punia, Indian wrestler also bagged Bronze medal in wrestling, adding up total 6 medals for the country so far at the world event.
