Nothing Can Beat Theater Experience Says Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar says OTT has its own charm and fun, but nothing can beat the collective viewing in theater.

During pandemic, Akshay Kumar not only released his movie digitally, but also shot for one, as well. Now with theaters re-opening across nation, he is the first one to release his spy-thriller BellBottom theatrically.

When Newshelpline asked about releasing Laxmii digitally and now BellBottom in theaters, Akshay Kumar added, “At the time of Laxmii, the whole thing was shut down and I was sitting with my movie, paying astronomical interest, so I had to do something. So I did something…OTT is a different platform, it has its own fun, but theater is something which you enjoy with full family, OTT cannot match it”

BellBottom is the first from in the world, not just Bollywood, to commence shot during pandemic and finish it as well.

When asked the challenges faced during the shoot, Akshay Kumar said, “Shooting the entire film during pandemic, I think, I would like to give full credit for this to Jackky Bhagnani and Vashu Bhagnani. They are one who took the risk of taking 200 odd people to Scotland and shot the film there, with full protocol and permission. I would take a bow to the father and son duo, because they did something which was unbelievable, as they were the first person in the world to shoot a movie”

Being a Delhi Boy, Akshay Kumar have a lot of memories from the capital, sharing one such memory, Akki remembered Amar Akbar Anthony rather fondly.

When asked if he has ever watched a film without buying a ticket, Akshay Kumar said, "Never without a ticket, I have watched a lot of movies in theatre here in Delhi, as I was born here but never without ticket, always with a ticket. I remember watching 'Amar Akbar Anthony' in the theatre by buying a ticket in black. It was raining heavily that day but I wanted to watch that film at any cost. Being a cinema lover, it was extremely important for me to watch that film”

"Some films always remain alive in your memory and for me, 'Amar Akbar Anthony' is one such movie which will be cherished by me always," he added.

BellBottom', which is a spy thriller, is scheduled to release in theatres on August 19.
