I Aspire To Become A Writer One Day Says Zoya Hussain

We all loved her in her debut film 'Mukkabaaz' and in her web debut show 'Grahan' which released on Disney+Hotstar in June 2021, she excelled once again. The actress Zoya Hussain who wants to explore web and films both spoke to News Helpline about her show, the variety of roles she performed and her future plans.

She played the role of a boxer in her debut film and an IPS officer in her web debut. Both the roles were very demanding. How does she unprep for the role, talking about this she said, "It depends on project to project; for Grahan, I did a lot of preparation and workshops. I think this prep only helps you to detach later. You know when you have to switch on and when to switch off. In addition to this, you have a life to go back to. Your household chores help you to detach from the character you played."

Talking about the transition from movies into web, she said, "Both the mediums are different and I realised their difference once I got there. In films, I think a lot of acting depends on listening. If you have a good co actor and a director, a lot of your job is done when you listen to them and just emote accordingly.

She further added, "In web shows, you realise there is so much more of that. There are eight episodes of just you. But you get to explore a lot on the web. Time wise and physically, it is more gruelling."

Talking about her future plans, she said, "I want to explore films and web both. In addition to this, I do try to write and develop stories of my own. I aspire to become a writer one day. I like human stories and the transitory phase in their lives. I think writers should explore more of that now"
