I Pick Stories, I’d Want To Watch On Screen Says Supriya Pathak
Veteran actress Supriya Pathak says she always pick a role or story, which she would like to watch later on screen.
Surpiya Pathak is currently winning hearts and accolades for her stunning role of Shobha Rathore in Mimi, a heart-warming drama based on surrogacy. She interacted with NewsHelpline, celebrating the success of recent release and talked about her movie selection process and fear of picking Mimi, as well.
Talking about her simple trick of picking stories and roles, Supriya Pathak said, “For me personally, I’d always pick stories which I would want to watch on screen. When the film releases and if I want to watch it, that means I made the right choice, but If I don’t like it than who audience suppose to like it? And I loved the story of Mimi”
Mimi is helmed by Laxman Utekar, a remake of Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy, the film stars Kriti Sanon in the titular role of Mimi, a young woman who opts to be a surrogate mother for a foreign couple.
Talking about Mimi and her fears before saying yes to the film, Supriya said, “I read the script, and I liked my role, but I wanted to meet Laxman Utekar first, as I hadn’t seen any of his work before. And when I met Laxman, I’d said yes to the film. He is an honest man, and the subject being so touchy and edgy, it could easily go crude. One needs sensitivity to handle such subjects, and I was scared to handle such a film. After discussing with Laxman, I was certain he will handle the subject with required honesty and sensitivity”
