"A director always makes a film for theatre release", Madhur Bhandarkar
Talking about the film, he said, "My next film is India Lockdown which stars Prateik Babbar,Sai Tamhankar, Shweta Basu Prasad, Prakash Belawadi and Aahana Kumra in pivotal roles. I have just finished editing the film.
In two-three months, I will decide whether to release the film through the OTT platform or give it a theatrical release. Currently theatres are in bad condition. The malls are not open, the cinema halls are shut. So I will decide with the producer after gauging the situation in 2-3 months."
Sharing the crux of the film, he said, "The film has four different stories. Like my other films, this film also shows the reality of life, how the first lockdown affected the lives of people. Audience will definitely connect to the film. All the actors have really performed well."
Talking about the current trend of releasing the films through OTT platforms, he said, "A director always makes a film for theatre release. But today the situation is different. The fear of Covid is still there. So one has to make the decision accordingly. "
India Lockdown has been directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and focuses on the impact of coronavirus induced nationwide lockdown on people across the country. Film stars Prateik Babbar, Sai Tamhankar, Shweta Basu Prasad, Prakash Belawadi and Aahana Kumra in pivotal roles. The film was shot in Mumbai and Pune earlier this year.
