Farhan Akhtar, Atul Kasbekar, Adnan Sami And More Share Condolences for Anil Dharker

Actor Farhan Akhtar along with Atul Kasbekar, Adnan Sami and more condole the demise of Journalist and writer Anil Dharker, founder of Mumbai International Literary Festival, he died in Mumbai on Friday.

Anil Dharker, 74, had underwent a bypass procedure at a Mumbai hospital on Thursday and due to further complication passed away, as reported. Following the news of his death, heartfelt messages and condolences poured in on Twitter paying respects to the late writer.

Actor Farhan Akhtar took to his social media profile and tweeted, “RIP Anil Dharkar...Your passion for art and literature always served as an inspiration. Deepest condolences to Ayesha and the rest of his family”

Condoling the demise, Atul Kasbekar shared, “RIP Anil Dharker...Will miss his smiling face and our chats in the bombay gym corridors over the last many decades”

Singer Adnan Sami wrote, “Sad to learn of the passing away of journalist & writer Anil Dharker. He was a brilliant mind and a very warm soul. RIP”

In his career spanning over five decades, Mr Dharker had been a columnist and writer, an architect, and a member of the advisory committee of the film censor board. He was also the editor of several publications; he also played an important role in opening the Akashwani Auditorium in south Mumbai as an art movie theatre.

Dharker was the Founder of the Mumbai International Literary Festival, which is held in November every year. He was also the Founder and Director of Literature Live! which holds literary evenings through the year in different locations in Mumbai.
