The Wife Has Been A Challenging Movie For Me Says Gurmeet Choudhary
Actor Gurmeet Choudhary says that his latest offering, ZEE5’s psychological horror drama, The Wife has been a challenging movie to complete.
Starring Gurmeet Choudhary and Sayani Datta in the lead roles, The Wife is set in an urban city revolving around a couple who move into a new apartment where they are haunted by a spirit. The film is written and directed by Sarmad Khan.
Talking to NewsHelpline on the sidelines of a special screening, actor Gurmeet said, “The Wife has been a challenging movie for me. When we started shooting, after ten days of shoot, lockdown was placed. When we started shooting again, the whole scenario has changed, we were wearing masks, we were fearful and that was a real struggle. As an actor, you need to perform without fear, but we were constantly worried about social distancing, mask, and over all well-being”
The makers have opted for OTT release despite theaters reopening, and Gurmeet adds his take on digital release.
He said, “The film had its digital release; people aren’t coming to theaters to watch a film due to COVID, people are comfortable watching the film on OTT, within the comfort of home and you can watch a movie anytime, so I think that makes a huge difference, in the current times. OTT has its own fan base”
