Satish Kaushik Condole The Demise Of Bansi Kaul

Veteran actor Satish Kaushik condole the demise of Bansi Kaul, founder of Rang Vidushak and noted theatre director.

Bansi Kaul was unwell for a long time. He recently got operate due to cancer but his health continued to deteriorate. He breathed his last in Dwarka, Delhi at 8.46 am on Saturday.

Actor Satish Kaushik took to his social media and tweeted, “Bansi Kaul bhai ur immense contribution and dedication to Indian Theatre will always be remembered. RIP #shahityaacademywinner #rangvidushak”

Bansi Kaul started his career as a director with NSD Repertory Company and was also in the faculty of the school for many years, before forming his own theatre group in 1984. He was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, given by Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama, in 1995, and the Padma Shri by Government of India in 2014. He is conferred with Rashtriya Kalidas Samman for the year 2016–17.

His most known performance is 'Kehan Kabir', based on collected works of poet-saint Kabir.

Meanwhile on the work front, Satish Kaushik’s last directorial outing, Kaagaz, found a lot of critical and commercial success.

Next, he will be seen sharing screen space with actors Anupam Kher for Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri directorial The Last Show.
