People Are Coming To Theaters, It Is Good Sign Says Abhishek Sharma

Filmmaker Abhishek Sharma opted for a theatrical release instead of OTT release for his romantic-comic-caper Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari says he is happy that audience is coming to theaters, which is good sign.

A special screening of Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, which is the first Hindi film to release on the big screen after re-opening of theatres, was held here on Wednesday for Mumbai cops and their families.

Interacting with media on the sidelines of screening, filmmaker Abhishek expressed his joy about audience retuning to theaters, he said, “Yes, it’s not like pre-covid days, it’s not weekend business anymore. Now it’s week long thing, and people are coming, which is a good sign. People want entertainment and it’s their belief that life is getting back to normal and the theaters will be able to provide us with adequate security and safety”

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the comedy stars Diljit Dosanjh, Manoj Bajpayee and Fatima Sana Sheikh in lead roles.

Further adding, Abhishek said, "It's a film we made to put a smile on people's faces and right now, no one needs these smiles as much as those who've worked through the ordeal of the pandemic every day when we have been comfortably locked in our home"

"We can't ever repay what they've done for us but the least we can do is to get smiles on their faces, so we invited men from the police force and their families to watch the film today," he added.

The film released on November 15.
