The Sony Pictures India is out with the first official trailer of Monster Hunter Movie starring Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa.

Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson, the star and director of the Resident Evil series, are ditching zombies to tackle a different horde of video game-inspired creatures in their Monster Hunter movie.

The official handle of Sony Pictures India dropped the trailer on social media. They captioned it, “Did you see that? Exploding head Watch the trailer for #MonsterHunterMovie, feat. @MillaJovovich and @tonyjaaofficial releasing in cinemas this December”

The film revolves around Artemis (Jovovich) who is the leader of a United Nations military unit that travels through a sandstorm portal to a mysterious world, one that’s populated by monsters. The squad isn’t exactly used to battling huge beasts, so they team up with a man named Hunter (Tony Jaa) to try and take them down.

Monster Hunter is loosely based on the video game series of the same name by Capcom. The film also stars Tip T. I. Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta, Josh Helman, Jin Au-Yeung and Ron Perlman.

A film adaptation based on the series has been in conception since 2012 by director Paul W. S. Anderson.

Monster Hunter is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 30, 2020 by Sony Pictures Releasing.
