Bollywood Support Rhea Chakraborty’s #SmashPatriarchy
Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) yesterday under several sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,1985. The Mumbai Court rejected her bail plea and she has been remanded to a 14 day judicial custody.
While there is a mixed layer of reactions on Rhea's arrest but what caught the most attention were the words imprinted on her tshirt that she wore to the NCB office yesterday. Her T shirt said, "ROSES ARE RED, VIOLETS ARE BLUE, LET'S SMASH PATRIARCHY, ME AND YOU."
While many people termed it as 'arrogant', a lot of Bollywood celebrities endorsed the message and came out in support of her. Rhea's unprecedented media trial has been strongly condemned by many Bollywood celebrities. They have been regularly posting on social media about her being vilified by the media.
Post her arrest yesterday, many Bollywood stars shared Rhea's T Shirt message on their social media account to condemn her arrest. #JusticeForRhea and #SmashPatriarchy became viral all over the internet as the celebs stood in solidarity with her.
Celebs like Anurag Kashyap, Radhika Apte, Sonam Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Radhika Madan, Shibani Dandekar, Neha Dhupia, Huma Qureshi, Farhan Akhtar, Gauhar Khan, Rohit Roy, Dia Mirza and many others came forward to support Rhea.
